Good Manners

Unlike young adults, there are probably no college courses for your cats to teach them etiquette, courtesy and manners. Yet, this is crucial for Store Cats, as they reside at your place of business, being highly visible to the public and interact with your customers during business hours. If your Store Cat can be a powerful ambassador for your company's success, the Cat can also become your worst saboteur who can break your business and drive your customers away unless you teach good manners to the Cats.

While you won't be able to find books of manners for Cats at the Brooks Brothers, here are some basics:

• Don't disgust humans with your solid or fluid waste, general messiness or with your trophy.
• Don't attack humans, and hissing counts as an attack.
• Don't climb on anything/one other than your own cat tree.
• Look cute.
• Purr.
